Melissa Campbell is a self-confessed sports lover, having played or watched sport for most of her life, representing Australia in Oztag before trying her hand at racing competitively in Surf Life Saving.
Mel is the current and 2-time World Champion in the 2km Beach Run, the first of which she won at the age of 40. She has also won the RED BULL Dune Dusters race twice, which is a gruelling 10km soft sand race through the incredible Stockton sand dunes. Now her time is mostly spent training and racing for fun - she is a keen social cyclist and dabbles in the odd triathlon.
During the day, the mother of 3 is an athletics running coach and the GM of Jock Athletic, a high performance athlete training company based in Southern Sydney which she co-founded with her husband Jock in 2006. In September 2019 she founded Mutha Runner, a run club targeted at women want to run - whether they’re just starting out, returning to running, or avid runners wanting a positive training environment.
